Dark Deer Ltd (“DDL”) is an IT company specialising in products for the equine market. It is a new company which grew out of a long established partnership which trades as “Spindrift Partnership”. The company has three co-founders: Dr Neil Thomson, CEO, Chris Prophet, Sales and Marketing Director and Adam Szczepaniak, Technical Director.
The company combines both very high technical skills and relevant and specific business knowledge of Equestrian sports and organising Competition centres and shows. In our experience this level of skill is unusual in companies working in the Equine/IT market.
Neil has over 30 years’ experience developing software both in his own companies and for large UK public companies. He has designed user interfaces for the Admiralty’s nuclear submarines and managed over 120 programmers and written mission-critical software for some of the world’s largest companies. Chris has had a career in Sales and IT as well starting his own companies and helping develop a large Equestrian Centre in the UK with his step-daughter. Adam is a developer with over ten years’ experience of writing advanced web application software. A computer science graduate, he has written software for companies based in Germany, Poland, Switzerland and the UK.
The company then combines both very high technical skills and relevant and specific business knowledge of Equestrian sports and organising Competition centres and shows. In our experience, this level of skill is unusual in companies working in the Equine/IT market.
DDL produces a number of products for the Equestrian market and its different disciplines, Showjumping, dressage and Eventing. These include timers, displays, TV interfaces, collecting ring, judging and show administration modules. Uniquely, these products can all be integrated providing the only “joined-up” modern technology solution for this market. The core product through which everything communicates is called “Showmanager”.
